Random pics

I can't believe summer is over.... where did it go? Molly is still growing up a storm. At 8 months, she's over 19lbs and really yabbering up a storm. Consonants are coming out with lots of dadada and mamama. She yells mamama a lot when she's hungry... go figure. :)

Her favorite vegetables are orange: Carrots, sweet potatoes & squash. If she's hungry enough, she'll eat beans and peas, but we get a nasty look from her on the first mouthful. "Hey... what's this?!" She loves fruit too and isn't partial about anything.... peaches, pears, blueberries, plums. She's still very amused by her big brother and it's easy to get belly laughs.

Allison's friend Gina took this picture while she was visiting a few weeks ago..

I'm a big Girl now!

Molly had her well child visit last week and she's 17lbs and 26inches already! At 6 months, she's as heavy as Owen was at 12 months. She's still in the 75th percentile for height and weight. She's managing to get herself rolled over back to front and front to back now. Still a very easy going baby and extremely attentive.

"The look"

Tackling her big brother. Owen is such a great little guy with Molly. She smiles every time she sees him or hears his voice. He's very patient and loves to entertain her.

Watch out for the crazy lady in the exer-saucer!!

Summer Happenings...

Allison's sister Danielle and her family have been in for the past 3 weeks, so we've spent a lot of time with them to visit and let the cousins play together.

Here's Molly in the pool for the first time. It took a few minutes for her to get used to the concept of water all around... then she had fun kicking and moving around.

Food Monster!

We've finally started Molly on solid food... her favorites so far are cereal and sweet potatoes! We're using a combination of home-made food and jar food with Molly like we did with Owen. I have to admit I was a skeptic when Allison was getting ready to prepare the beans, but it worked and my new mantra is: Properly steamed, anything can be reduced to mush.

Molly is a really interactive eater, following the spoon and often trying to grab it and pull it into her mouth.

She's still getting used to the concept of having food in her mouth. Much to our amusement, she likes to stick her tongue out, which usually pushes half the food back out onto her face. If she's into the food, she then spends the next minute trying to lick it all back in. :)

Molly's Baptism

We were blessed to have Molly's baptism on June 26th. Allison's mom made Molly's gown and it turned out beautiful. She behaved during the service and we had a nice brunch at the house for friends and family afterwords. Thanks to Mom & Dad for helping with the preparation & food!

June Already?

Time is clicking on by again and I've neglected keeping up to date here, so here's a random collection to get caught up. Molly is really developing her own little personality, smiling a lot and putting 102% of her energy into making her little thunder thighs a little bigger... :) She's 14-1/2 lbs now.

She had her first ear infection a few weeks ago, but responded pretty quickly to the anitbiotics. We're hoping that we don't have repeat issues like we had with Owen, but only time will tell.

Molly loves to put whatever she holds into her mouth. Typically this is a fist or a piece of clothing she's wearing. If she has on a dress, she almost always pulls it up around her head so she can chew on it. It's pretty humorous.... we keep checking for teeth, but nothing yet.

Here's Molly & Owen a few weekends ago on a Saturday morning while we let Mommy sleep.
Memorial Day weekend... She kept throwing out these huge smiles while Allison & Owen were sliding on the slides.
Monday after the parade, Molly & I got a short nap together. Thanks to Shannon for thinking to take a picture!

Here's some proofs from pictures we took this past weekend at Portrait Innovations in Reading. They turned out wonderful...

Updates!

Sorry it's been so long since I posted anything here. I'm always amazed at how quickly time flies. Little Molly is continuing to grow up a storm. She's over 12lbs now and just might have fat rolls around her little wrists. :)

She had her first round of shots a few weeks ago which was the precursor for a rough few days. At her checkup she was in the 75th percentile for height and weight.

She's sleeping through the night consistently for almost a week now! We purposefully wake her up at 11pm to feed her and then she usually sleeps through to around 6. She's smiling regularly on her own and also with easy prompting. She has an ear for her brother and whenever he gets close, she looks around for him and usually smiles.

This morning she woke up yelling and I walked into a stinky room (go figure)... A few minutes later I was asking myself.... how is it possible that that much poo came out of her?

Hungry Hippo's and Fist's of Power

5 weeks of life have flown by for our little Molly. She's very alert when she's awake, lifting her head up and looking around. When she's sleeping, she loves to snuggle. Sleeping and eating habits are still a little sporadic at times, but we're hoping to get a good schedule established in the next few weeks.

Molly is growing at a frightening pace and we joke a lot about our little hungry hippo. The informal weigh in on the bathroom scale last week reports that Molly is tipping the scales just over 10 lbs! She's starting to get little fat rolls and the double chin is quite pronounced. :)

She loves to stretch her arms and legs me and routinely plays a houdini on us, pulling her arms out of her swaddle wrap.

We're starting to see some hints at smiles now . I haven't caught a good one on camera yet, but I will soon....
And Molly has started with the "baby power" fist... Owen used to do this all the time... maybe all babies do, but I still think it's funny. I dug up a picture for a comparison. Here they are at the same age expressing their feelings. I think Molly has a little more attitude.

Owen has been a great big brother over the past few weeks. He's very helpful with Molly and loves her dearly.

Family Visits...

We've had a few wonderful weekends with family visiting to help out and meet miss Molly. Here's some pictures of everyone with the little girl.
